Abstract
Abstract A process for preparing metal carbide microspheres, and metal carbide microspheres containing excess carbon, from ion exchange resins in which the carbon-to-metal ratio in the product is controlled by heating in the presence of steam or other oxidizing gas after first heating the metal exchanged resin beads in an atmosphere of hydrogen and steam to remove sulfur.
