Abstract

Abstract Aerosol astringent package having both immediate and continuing effectiveness and comprising in a pressure resistant dispensing container, ethanol, a liquefied propellant and first and second astringents, one alcohol soluble, the other alcohol insoluble. The potentially corrosive effect of the alcohol soluble astringent is limited by mixing sufficient propellant with the ethanol to keep the soluble astringent out of solution, inactive and noncorrosive. Upon dispensing, the loss of propellant from the product enables alcohol solution and activation of the first astringent, for immediate astringent effectiveness. The loss of alcohol from the deposited product and water contact with the second astringent activates the second astringent providing continuing effectiveness.
