Abstract
Abstract A fabric-washing detergent composition containing a mixture of soap and non-soap detergents and adapted for use in automatic washing machines has improved suds-controlling properties if the soap component is derived from a blend of fatty acids made up from, by weight: A. 25 TO 45% OF SATURATED FATTY ACIDS CONTAINING LESS THAN 16 CARBON ATOMS, B. 20 TO 40% OF SATURATED FATTY ACIDS CONTAINING 16 TO 18 CARBON ATOMS, C. 5 TO 20% OF SATURATED FATTY ACIDS CONTAINING MORE THAN 18 CARBON ATOMS, AND D. 10 TO 40%OF UNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS CONTAINING ON AVERAGE MORE THAN 16 40% OF ATOMS.
