Abstract
Abstract WHEREIN R represents a straight or branched alkyl chain of from 10 to 17 carbon atoms; X represents oxygen or divalent sulfur; and R1 represents hydrogen, a straight or branched lower alkyl chain of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or aralkyl. Derivatives of benzoylacetic acids, esters and salts of the following general formula are useful as hypolipidemic agents:
