Abstract
Abstract Object of the invention is a process for the production of compounds having the general formula IN WHICH MALONIC ACID ESTERS ARE HEATED WITH BENZENE SUBSTITUTED BY DIHALOGENMETHYLENE GROUPS IN THE PRESENCE OF TRANSITION-METAL SALTS AND WATER WITH OR WITHOUT SOLVENTS. The compounds of the general formula can be used as UV absorbers.
