Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 115 words
A press for pressing contoured records onto the face of a thermoplastic sheet, comprising: a hydraulic pressure chamber; a flexible conductive diaphragm forming one wall of said chamber; means for securing the diaphragm rigidly around its perimeter; a thin flexible conductive matrix fitting over said diaphragm; means for supporting a sheet of thermoplastic materIal against said matrix; means defining a narrow circular space in said pressure chamber behind said diaphragm; means for alternately supplying hot and cold hydraulic fluid; means for distributing said hydraulic fluid under pressure evenly to the periphery of said space; means for providing egress of said fluid from the middle of said space; and, means for intensifying pressure in said fluid.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 115 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 50 words
A press as set forth in claim 1, in which said means for alternately supplying hot and cold hydraulic fluid comprises: a first hydraulic circuit including a cooling chamber; a second hydraulic circuit including a heater; and, valve means for selectively diverting fluid from each hydraulic circuit to said chamber.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
A press as set forth in claim 1, in which said means for supporting the sheet comprises a resilient cushion.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 21 words
A press as set forth in claim 3, in which said cushion is provided with a matt surface facing said diaphragm.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 91 words
A press as set forth in claim 1, in which said means for distributing said hydraulic fluid comprises: means defining a second narrow circular space in said pressure chamber; said second space being coaxial with and spaced apart from said first space; means defining an annular passageway connecting the peripheries of said spaces; means defining a recess at the center of said second space; an inlet conduit coupled to said recess; and, a distributor in said recess for distributing hydraulic fluid from said conduit evenly and radially outwardly from said recess.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 43 words
A press as set forth in claim 5 in which said distributor comprises: a tube extending, axially of said second space, into said recess; and, a spherical ball captively disposed in said tube, said ball being of slightly smaller diameter than said tube.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 83 words
In a press for pressing contoured records onto the face of a thin thermoplastic sheet, the combination comprising: a hydraulic pressure chamber; a flexible conductive diaphragm forming one wall of said chamber; means, including said diaphragm, defining a narrow circular space in said chamber behind said diaphragm; means defining an annular inlet passage connected to the periphery of said space; an outlet conduit coupled to the middle of said space; and, means for delivering hydraulic fluid under pressure evenly to said inlet passage.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 83 words
In a press for pressing contoured records onto the face of a thin thermoplastic sheet, the combination comprising: a hydraulic pressure chamber; a flexible conductive diaphragm forming one wall of said chamber; means, including said diaphragm, defining a narrow circular space in said chamber behind said diaphragm; means defining an annular inlet passage connected to the periphery of said space; an outlet conduit coupled to the middle of said space; and, means for delivering hydraulic fluid under pressure evenly to said inlet passage.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 74 words
The combination set forth in claim 7 in which the last-named means comprises: means defining a second narrow circular space in said chamber; said second space being coaxial with and spaced apart from the first-mentioned space; means defining a recess at the center of said second space; an inlet conduit coupled to said recess; and, a distributor in said recess for distributing hydraulic fluid from said conduit evenly and radially outwardly from said recess.
