Abstract

Abstract An improved apparatus for determining and monitoring the speed of rotation of a turbine through the use of three parallel electronic channels separated from each other and arranged so that only when two of the three channels indicate an excessive speed will the turbine be shut down. Also included are self test means for checking each of the three channels independently or together to ensure proper operation of all components therein.
