Abstract
Abstract Copper is recovered from chalcopyrite ore concentrates by means of a process comprising (1) partial roasting of the concentrate under conditions producing a calcine consisting essentially of bornite and troilite, (2) acid leaching the calcine to remove iron, and (3) dissolving the copper sulfide residue to form an electrolyte for electrowinning copper.
