Abstract
Abstract The position-selective nitration of alkanesulfonanilides substituted by ortho-phenoxy, -phenylthio, -phenylsulfinyl or phenylsulfonyl groups is achieved by carefully treating the substrate with an equimolar amount of a nitrating agent.
