Abstract
Abstract A stable avirulent antibacterial mutant strain of Pasteurella multocida used as a live vaccine in poultry induces a high degree of protection against fowl cholera. The live vaccine is preferably administered orally by introduction into drinking water, but has been found to be avirulent in all of the normal routes of administration against the whole range of P. multocida serotypes.
