Abstract

Abstract This invention relates to compositions containing organopolysiloxanes and pyrogenically produced mixed oxides of boron and an element selected from the class consisting of silicon, aluminum, titanium and iron in which the boron calculated as elemental boron is present in an amount of from 2 to 20 percent by weight. These compositions may be used in the preparation of self-adhering elastomers and putty-like materials which exhibit a high degree of elasticity under suddenly applied stress.
