Abstract
Abstract A film-forming polyamide-imide polymer and a process for making this polymer by reacting an anhydride of a tricarboxylic acid, a diamine, and an organic diisocyanate; the polymer having an ordered structure of recurring amide-imide-imide-amide linkages in the polymer chain and having the following recurring structural units: IN WHICH R is a trivalent aromatic radical, R1 and R2 are each divalent organic radicals having at least 2 carbon atoms.
