Abstract
Abstract A method for performing assays on reactions that produce radioactive gases. Reaction components are placed in the reaction well of an open bottomed container. The reaction is sealed except for an aperture through which evolved radioactive gases can escape. A tent-like cover of scintillation plastic surrounds the aperture. When the radioactive gases strike the plastic, scintillations will be emitted and may be counted by a standard scintillation counter. This method is particularly useful in performing enzyme assays.
