Abstract
Abstract The present invention is directed to long chain ether alcohols and alcohol sulfates from propylene oxide and 1,2-butylene oxide having the formula R(OCH2CH(R''))nOY, wherein R is an n-alkyl radical containing 12 to 18 carbon atoms; R'' is selected from methyl and ethyl; n is an integer from 1 to 4; and Y is selected from H and SO3 M, wherein M is selected from Na, K, Li, NH4 and NH(C2H4OH)3, useful as biodegradable detergents.
