Abstract

Abstract Barbiturate phosphates characterized by the following structural formula: WHEREIN R1 and R2 are each selected from the group consisting of C1-C6 alkoxy, C1-C6 thioalkyl, C1-C6 alkyl, C3-C6 alkoxyalkyl, phenyl, phenoxy, thiophenyl, wherein said groups can be optionally substituted with chlorine, bromine, nitrile or nitro; R1 and R2 may or may not be the same; R3 is one selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, optionally substituted with chlorine or bromine; R4 is one selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, optionally substituted with chlorine or bromine, phenyl, bromo or chloro-substituted phenyl, C1-C4 alkylamino, C2-C4 dialkylamino, C2-C4 acyl, C1-C4 thioalkyl, C1-C4 alkylsulfoxide, C1-C4 alkylsulfone, C2-C4 alkoxyalkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C3-C6 alkynyl; R5 and R6 are each selected from the group consisting of C1-C6 alkyl, phenyl, C1-C6 chloro or bromo-substituted alkyl, C1-C4 alkylthio, thiophenyl optionally substituted by chlorine, bromine, C1-C4 alkyl or nitro, C1-C4alkylsulfoxide, C1-C4 alkylsulfonyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C2-C5 alkoxyalkyl, C1-C6 monoalkylamino and C2-C6 dialkyl amino, cyano, thiocyano, C2-C6 alkenyl, C3-C6 alkynyl, nitro, C3-C6 cycloalkyl and C5-C6 cycloalkenyl wherein R5 and R6 may or may not be the same; X and Y can be O or S; and n is an integer ranging from 1 to 3. Such compounds have been found to possess highly active contact and systemic insecticidal and miticidal activity.
