Abstract
Abstract A lead acid storage battery having dry discharged plates contains a hydrogen ion producing salt within its container. The cell is activated by the addition of water only followed by charging. The presence of the salt prevents the formation of a deleterious corrosion. Preferred salts are the acid sulfates of the alkali metals.
