Abstract CERTAIN CARBOSYTRIL COMPOUNDS HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE ACTIVE AGAINST FUGI. WHEN THE COMPOUNDS WERE APPLIED TO SOIL WHERE SEEDLING PLANTS WERE GROWING OR TO THE PLANTS THEMSELVES, THE PLANTS WERE PROTECTED FROM PATHOGENIC FUNGI THAT CAUSE POWDERY MILDEW, E.G., ERISYPHE CICHOROACEARUM AND OTHER FUNGAL PATHOGENS OF PLANTS. THE COMPOUNDS ARE PREPARED BYKNOWN CHEMICAL PROCESSES. A NEW METHOD FOR CONTROLLING FUNGI AND NEW FORMULATIONS ARE DESCRIBED.
