Abstract
Abstract Graphite impregnated with at least one valve metal oxide such as zirconium oxide, tantalum oxide, titanium oxide, aluminum oxide or molybdenum oxide alone or optionally co-deposited with an oxide of a metal of the eighth group of the periodic table which is useful in an amalgam denuder and a process for the preparation and use of the said impregnated graphite to decompose an alkali metal amalgam to mercury and alkali metal hydroxide.
