Abstract
Abstract SO2 and SO3 are recovered from flue gas by absorption in a saline solution of sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide maintained at a high pH. Na2SO3 is precipitated and may be easily removed, while the SO2 concentration is reduced to about 1 percent of the original content in the flue gas.
