Abstract CERTAIN BLENDS OF (A) FORMALDEHYDE, PLUS (B) BIS(VINYLSULFONYLMETHYL)ETHER EXHIBIT SYNERGISM WITH RESPECT TO CONTROLLING BENEFICIALLY THE "AFTERHARDENING" THIS IS USUALLY OBSERVED WHEN, FOR EXAMPLE, GELATIN-CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS ARE CHEMICALLY HARDENED. THE HARDENED GLEATIN COMPOSITIONS ARE PARTICULARYL USEFUL AS EMULSION LAYERS IN PHOTOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS.
