Abstract A METHOD IS PROVIDED FOR PREPARING AN ADDITIVE AGENT COMPRISING AN ETHOXYLATED CONDENSATION PRODUCT OF A PHENOL AND FORMALDEHYDE. SAID ADDITIVE IS PREFERABLY PREPARED BY REACTING A PHENOL AND A MONAQUEOUS FORMALDEHYDE TO PREPATE A POLYEYCLIC HYDROPHOBE WHICH IS THEN REACTED WITH ETHYLENE OXIDE.
