Abstract
Abstract Mushroom spawn and the method of making same wherein the substrate is prepared with finely ground feedstuffs. Flocculating agents and trituration permit the finely granular mixture to serve as a substrate without becoming a sticky paste or cementlike product. The finely ground substrate provides for increased and faster mycelial growth throughout the compost, and for greater mushroom yield from the use of a particular amount of spawn.
