Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim
138 words
A structural frame for a piece of furniture, comprising: a first component including a generally U-shaped first yoke with a pair of parallel first legs and a first bight portion interconnecting same in a first plane, and a pair of first extensions integrally adjoining said first legs at free ends thereof remote from said first bight portion and at right angles to said first plane; and a second component including a generally U-shaped second yoke with a pair of parallel second legs and a second bight portion interconnecting same in a second plane, and a pair of second extensions integrally adjoining said second legs at free ends thereof remote from said second bight portion and at right angles to said second plane; said first extensions differing in length and terminating at mutually offset junctions with said second extensions.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
33 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 1 wherein said second extensions differ in length to the same extent as said first extensions and longitudinally abut the latter at said mutually offset junctions.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
25 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 2 wherein said first and second planes are vertical, said first yoke being taller than said second yoke.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
32 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 1 wherein said first extensions lie at right angles to said second extensions and differ in length by the relative spacing of said second extensions.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
85 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 4, further comprising a third component including a generally U-shaped third yoke with a pair of parallel third legs and a third bight portion interconnecting same in a third plane parallel to said second plane and perpendicular to said first plane, and a pair of third extensions integrally adjoining said third legs at ends thereof remote from said third plane, said second and third legs being mutually aligned and interconnected in orthogonally adjoining relationship with said first extensions.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
29 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 5 wherein said first, second and third planes are vertical, said first, second and third extensions lying in a common horizontal plane.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
18 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 6 wherein said second and third components are of unequal height.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
25 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 6, further comprising a covering draped over said second and third bight portions above said common horizontal plane.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
66 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 4, further comprising a third component symmetrical to said first component and complementing same to a first pair, and a fourth component symmetrical to said second component and complementing same to a second pair, the extensions of said first and third components being longitudinally aligned at right angles to the longitudinally aligned extensions of said second and fourth components.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
28 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 9 wherein said first and second planes are vertical, the extensions of all said components lying in a common horizontal plane.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
35 words
A structural frame as defined in claim 10 wherein the yokes of all said components are of the same height and extend downwardly from said common horizontal plane to form a set of table legs.
