Abstract THE DISCLOSED POLYMERS ARE USEFUL IN SELF-EMULSIFIED POLYURETHANE (INCLUDING POLYURETHANE--POLYUREA) LATICES FORMED BY REACTING AN AROMATIC ISOCYANATE-TERMINATED POLYURETHANE POLYMER WITH A STRONG SULFONATING AGENT AND CHAIN EXTENDING THE PREPOLYMER WITH WATER, THE CHAIN EXTENSION BEING PREFERABLY SUBSEQUENT TO OR SIMULTANEOUS WITH A NEUTRALIZATION STEP.
