Abstract
Abstract Apparatus for encapsulating electrical circuitry for mining machines in a pressure-tight housing for the mining machine drive motor means, the circuitry being adapted to connect high voltage elements within the housing to an external, intrinsically-safe circuit. The invention is characterized in the use of an insert fitted into an opening in the wall of the pressure-tight housing for the drive motor means, the insert carrying electrical coupling elements for interconnecting high voltage circuitry to low voltage circuitry and incorporating an explosion-proof chamber.
