Abstract
Abstract Cross-linked vinyl chloride polymers are produced by employing as the linear vinyl chloride polymer a copolymer of vinyl chloride and a silane and effecting the cross-linking by contacting the linear polymer with hydrochloric or nitric acid. Premature cross-linking, i.e. cross-linking before final shaping of the desired article such as filament or sheet, can be avoided by use of the process of the invention.
