Abstract
Abstract A door control mechanism for an appliance is operable for controlling movement of the door between a substantially horizontal normally open position and an overload position at which a portion of the door engages the floor. The door control mechanism is preloaded to maintain the door in the horizontal position when supporting less than a predetermined loading but will effect movement of the door to the floor responsive to an overloading of the door for preventing tipping of the appliance.
