Abstract

Abstract Novel glass compositions containing strontium oxide are disclosed of enhanced chemical durability and working properties and x-ray absorbing capability. Cathode-ray tubes, in general, and color television tubes, in particular, may be formed from these glasses containing strontium oxide. These articles possess improved x-ray absorbing properties and increased resistance to adverse discoloration and browning of the glass.
