Abstract
Abstract A fuel system of an internal combustion engine comprising a high-pressure pump with a governing element in the form of a rack, and a discharge valve. Said high-pressure pump is connected with a closed-type fuel injector by a high-pressure pipe. For maintaining a high initial pressure in said pipe, it communicates with an accumulator by a pipe via a fuel distributor in the form of a groove and inlet and outlet holes. Pressure in the accumulator is built up by an auxiliary pump. The required high pressure in the accumulator is maintained by a controllable reducing valve communicating with said accumulator.
