Abstract A PRINTED OPTICAL CIRCUIT INCLUDING A TRANSPARENT DIELECTRIC BODY ON WHICH AT LEAST ONE ELONGATED REGION IS FORMED. A VARYING REFRACTIVE INDEX IS ESTABLISHED IN THE DIELECTRIC BODY BY VARYING THE RELATIVE CONCENTRATION OF METALLIC POSITIVE IONS THEREIN. A METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE OPTICAL CIRCUIT IS ALSO DESCRIBED.
