Abstract
Abstract Device for positioning the turns formed by a coiled flexible elongated member stored in a rotatable annular basket of vertical axis and having two coaxial vertical frames disposed around the axis, said device comprising cylindrical walls coaxially placed between said frames each of said frames and wall being constituted by a stationary sector and a movable sector which is complementary to the stationary sector and articulated at one end of the later, eash said moveable sector having three positions allowing the winding of the elongated member substantially along the profile of a spiral.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
282 words
A device for automatically positioning the turns formed by a coiled flexible elongated member stored in an annular basket rotatably mounted about a vertical axis, this basket being constituted by vertically arranged inner frame, an outer frame coaxial to the inner frame, said inner and outer frames defining between each other an annular space closed by a base plate at its lower part and open at its upper part so as to allow introduction of the elongated member thereinto, the radial distance between said two frames being greater than the greatest size of the cross section of the elongated member, this device including at least one cylindrical wall coaxially mounted between said inner and outer frames and defining at least two concentrical annular spaces each having a radial width slightly greater than the greatest size of the cross section of the elongated member, each of said frames and wall being constituted by a stationary sector and by a moveable sector which is complementary to said stationary sector and articulated at one end of the later, each of the so-constituted moveable sectors having a first position wherein the moveable sector connects said stationary sector at the end of which it is articulated and the stationary sector of the wall or frame of greater diameter which is the closest thereto, a second position wherein said moveable sector provides for the continuity of said stationary sector at the end of which it is articulated and a third position, wherein said moveable sector provides for the connection between said stationary sector at the end of which it is articulated and the stationary sector of the wall or frame of smaller diameter which is the closest thereto.
