Claim 1
Independent Claim
145 words
A molded plastic cap adapted to close the open end of a tubular vial, said cap comprising, an outer cylindrical flange, an inner cylindrical plug positioned coaxially within said cylindrical flange, a base wall integrally joininG one end of said cylindrical flange with one end of said plug, the outer surface of said plug being spaced from the inner surface of said flange to form a cylindrical opening therebetween, said opening being adapted to receive the open end of said tubular vial, and a flap extending from the opposite free end of said plug, said flap having integral means for retaining a micro-pipette in a substantially coaxial relationship, a plurality of protuberances extending from said base wall in a direction opposite said plug, and the opposite free end of said plug being substantially tubular and said flap extending into and substantially bisecting said tubular portion.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
23 words
The molded plastic cap as defined in claim 1 wherein the inner surface of said cylindrical flange has a female thread formation thereon.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
176 words
A molded plastic cap adapted to close the open end of a tubular vial, said cap comprising, an outer cylindrical flange, an inner cylindrical plug positioned coaxially within said cylindrical flange, a base wall integrally joining one end of said cylindrical flange with one end of said plug, the outer surface of said plug being spaced from the inner surface of said flange to form a cylindrical opening therebetween, said opening being adapted to receive the open end of said tubular vial, a flap extending from the opposite free end of said plug, said flap having integral means for retaining a micro-pipette in a substantially coaxial relationship, one end of said plug being integrally connected to said base wall in the opposite end of said plug being integrally connected to said flap, and said plug opposite end being substantially tubular to form an axial opening therein, said means to retain the micro-pipette including an aperture in said flap so that one end of the micro-pipette can be threaded through said aperture and into said tubular opening.
