Abstract
Abstract An open-end spinning machine in which the turbine housing is by means of a control lever and a crank drive operatively connected to the control lever movable along a straight path in the axial direction of the turbine housing and is provided with locking means reponsive to a predetermined stroke of the turbine housing along said straight path to lock the control lever to the turbine housing and the crank drive whereupon the turbine housing is by means of the control lever pivotable about a pivot shaft extending in the longitudinal direction of the machine, for yielding easy access to the interior of the turbine housing.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
260 words
An open-end spinning machine, which includes: a turbine housing open at its upper end, a spinning turbine journalled in said turbine housing, a housing means for an opening-up roller, said housing means being arranged above and closing up said turbine housing when said turbine housing is in its position of operation, a pivot shaft extending in the longitudinal direction of said machine at a level lower than said turbine housing, said turbine housing being movable relative to said pivot shaft from a first position in which said turbine housing is in engagement with said housing means successively along a straight first path in the axial direction of said turbine housing and along a curved second path around said shaft and vice versa, guiding means projecting from said housing means and extending in axial direction of said turbine housing while slidingly engaging a portion of said turbine housing for guiding the same along said straight first path, crank drive means connected to said turbine housing, control lever means connected to said crank drive means and operable to cause said crank drive means to move said turbine housing away from said housing means along said first path and to disengage said turbine housing from said guiding means, and means responsive to said turbine housing having disengaged said guiding means at the end of said first path to lock said crank drive means and to establish a rigid connection between said turbine housing and said control lever to thereby permit movement of said turbine housing along said second path about said pivot shaft.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
56 words
A machine according to claim 1, in which said turbine housing has a crank arm pivotally supporting said turbine housing on said pivot shaft, and in which said crank drive includes a crank disc rotatably connected to said pivot shaft and also includes a connecting member having one end portion pivotally connected to said crank arm.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
46 words
A machine according to claim 2, which includes spring means supported by said pivot shaft and operable in the position of operation of said turbine housing to press said turbine housing against said housing means, said spring means forming a pivotal unit with said turbine housing.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
42 words
A machine according to claim 1, in which said control lever means and said crank drive means are kinematically so connected to each other as to occupy their outer dead center position when said turbine housing is in its position of operation.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
122 words
A machine according to claim 1, which includes a suction head arranged adjacent to and having an engaging surface thereof in engagement with said turbine housing when the latter is in its position of operation, and in which at that side of the machine toward which the turbine housing is pivotable said guiding means includes a guiding element having its guiding surface extending substantially parallel to the axis of said turbine housing when the latter is in its position of operation, whereas said suction head surface which engages said turbine housing when the latter is in its position of operation is inclined in a direction away from the axis of said turbine housing when the latter is in its position of operation.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
20 words
A machine according to claim 5, in which said suction head is at least approximately diametrically opposite said guiding element.
