Abstract
Abstract A smoking material is disclosed which consists essentially of a vinyl methyl ether: maleic anhydride copolymer or salts thereof, an inorganic particulate filler and optionally a second combustible material. The second combustible filler may be of tobacco dust, sodium gluconate, pectins, natural gums, or cellulose or its derivatives. The inorganic particulate material serves in the capacity of a combustion modifier and reduces the total effective combustible material in a particular charge.
