Abstract

Abstract The invention relates to a photoconductive insulating coating composition, which includes a crystallization prevention agent. The photoresponse of a poly N-vinyl carbazole-trinitrofluorenone charge transfer complex can be improved by increasing the trinitrofluorenone content. This increase is limited by the tendency of the coating to crystallize at a trinitrofluorenonepoly N-vinyl carbazole molar ratio of greater than 1/1. The use of dicarbazolyl cyclobutane as a crystallization prevention agent permits the use of ratios of greater than 1.23/1, even with high curing temperatures.
