Abstract
Abstract A METHOD OF BONDING LIGHT WEIGHT POROUS PARTICLES OF AN AGGEGRATE BONDED TOGETHER BY A BINDER THAT HAS BEEN MADE INTO THE FORM OF A GEL. THE GELATIONUS BINDER IS MIXED WTH THE POROUS PARTICLES SO THAT THE GEL COATS THE SURFACE OF THE PARTICLES WITHOUT APPERCIABLY PENETRATING THE PORES OF THE AGGREGATE. UPON CURING OF THE GEL COATED POROUS PARTICLES, THE POROUS PARTICLES ARE BONDED TOGETHER BY SURFACE BONDS WITHOUT ANY APPRECIABLE FILLING OF THE PORES OF THE AGGREGATE. THE RESULTING BONDED AGGREGATE IS STRONG AND LIGHT WEIGHT, AND CAN BE USED AS A THERMAL INSULATION.
