Abstract

Abstract A visual data handling system incorporating a visual display device to provide an illuminated display of data. A print-through device utilizing a matrix of light conducting elements transfers the illuminated display of data to a light responsive type printer. This illumination transfer can be selectively interrupted by a turn-off mechanism, which does this by maneuvering the print-through device. Also, the light conducting elements can incorporate lasing devices to intensify the illumination.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 107 words
In combination, a gas discharge panel including means energizing the panel so as to provide an illuminated pattern of information at one face thereof, print-out means sensitive to illumination and print-through means positioned between the gas discharge panel and the print-out means for transferring illumination from the one face to the print-out means, the printthrough means including a series of light conducting elements arranged in parallel alignment each light conducting element having a lasing device arranged therein, the lasing device being operative in response to illumination transferred from the gas discharge panel to the light conducting element to amplify and transfer the illumination to the print-out means.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 107 words
In combination, a gas discharge panel including means energizing the panel so as to provide an illuminated pattern of information at one face thereof, print-out means sensitive to illumination and print-through means positioned between the gas discharge panel and the print-out means for transferring illumination from the one face to the print-out means, the printthrough means including a series of light conducting elements arranged in parallel alignment each light conducting element having a lasing device arranged therein, the lasing device being operative in response to illumination transferred from the gas discharge panel to the light conducting element to amplify and transfer the illumination to the print-out means.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 105 words
In combination, a gas discharge panel including means energizing the panel so as to provide illuminated pattern of information at one face thereof, print-out means sensitive to illumination and operative to make a record thereof, print-through means positioned between the gas discharge panel and the print-out means for transferring illumination from the one face of the gas discharge panel to the print-out means, the print-through means including a series of fiber optic elements, each having therein a lasing device arranged so as to be driven by the illumination from the gas discharge panel so as to intensify and transfer the illumination to the print-out means.
Claim 4
