A plant for producing sheet metal blanks from a metal in a hot fluid state comprising the following devices which are set up in the direction of technological process: a pouring device, a receiving-distributing device, a plurality of roll means horizontally disposed in contacting relationship for crystallization of the liquid metal fed thereto from said receiving-distributing device into a strip, a strip remover, reeling means for reeling the strip in a coil, a device for cutting the strip into sheets located between said strip mover and said reeling means, a sheet conveying device having a mode for conveying said sheet and a mode enabling operation of the reeling means during coiling and a sheet piler.

A plant as claimed in claim 1, wherein said sheet conveying device is a chain conveyor having a speed of travel that exceeds the rotational velocity of said roll means and which is adequate for transferring the sheet in said sheet piler.

A plant as claimed in claim 2, wherein said chain conveyer is made up of two branches either of which is arranged to swing in a vertical plane, and having said reeling means mounted therebetween.

A plant as claimed in claim 1, wherein said reeling means comprises a stationary baseplate and a body having a drum for coiling the strip, a drum rotating drive and a coil ejecting mechanism, said drum being arranged to turn to a horizontal position to perform the coiling operation and to a vertical position to remove the coil.
