Abstract

Abstract A circulation system for a swimming pool having associated therewith an aerated basin for therapeutic and/or relaxation purposes. The circulation system includes the usual circulating pump and filter, and includes valves for selectively returning the filtered water to the pool, or delivering it to aerating devices in the aerated basin. The circulation system also includes a water operated pool cleaner supplied with filtered water by a cleaning pump. Finally, the circulation system includes a pressure relief valve for preventing water flow from the circulating pump to the pool cleaner when maximum water flow to the aerating devices in the aerated basin is desired. Upon actuation of the cleaning pump, the pressure relief valve opens automatically to permit water flow to pool cleaner.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 176 words
In a circulation system for a swimming pool having an aeratable basin, the combination of: a. a suction line connected to said pool; b. a return line connected to said pool; c. a circulating pump having an inlet and an outlet; d. means for connecting said suction line to said circulating pump inlet; f. aerating means communicating with said basin; g. an aerating line connected to said aerating means; h. valve means for selectively connecting said circulating pump outlet to said return line and said aerating line; i. water operated pool cleaning means; j. a cleaning pump having an inlet connected to said outlet of said circulating pump and an outlet connected to said pool cleaning means; and k. normally closed pressure relief valve means interposed between said cleaning pump and said pool cleaning means and openable upon actuation of said cleaning pump, said pressure relief valve means preventing flow of water from said circulating pump to said pool cleaning means when said cleaning pump is not in operation, thereby insuring water flow to said basin.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 176 words

Claim 3
Dependent Claim 59 words
A circulation system according to claim 1 including another suction line connected to said basin, said means of subparagraph (d) being a valve means for selectively connecting said circulating pump inlet to said suction line from said pool and said suctional line from said basin, said circulation system further including a connection between said return line and said basin.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
A circulation system as defined in claim 2 including means interconnecting both said selector valve means for simultaneous operation.
