Abstract
Abstract Method for applying labels or plates to hollow bodies of thermoplastic synthetic substance produced by the blow moulding process. A wrap-round label is applied to a blow-moulded article by means of a plunger extending through the mould wall. The front face of the plunger is concave, being shaped to fit the article, and the label is initially mounted on the pllunger so as to be stretched or taut across the front face. When blow-moulding commences, initially the plunger is in an outwardldy retracted postition. As blow moulding proceeds, the plunger is advanced so as to wrap the label around the article.
