Abstract A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SULPHUR FROM A GASEOUS MIXTURE CONTAINING HYDROGEN SULPHIDE AND SULPHUR DIOXIDE. THE GASEOUS MIXTURE IN A REACTOR VESSEL IS CONTACTED WITH A CATALYST COMPRISING OXIDES OF NICKEL AND URANIUM WHEREBY HYDROGEN SULPHIDE AND SULPHUR DIOXIDE ARE REACTED TOGETHER TO YIELD SULPHUR.
