Abstract METHYLCHLOROFORM COMPOSITIONS ARE PROVIDED WHICH ARE STABLE IN THE PRESENCE OF METALS, INCLUDING ALUMINUM, IN EITHER THE ANHYDROUS STATE OR IN THE PRESENCE OF WATER. THE METHYLCHLOROFORM COMPOSITIONS OF THIS INVENTION CONTAIN PYRAZINE AS THE EFFECTIVE STABILIZER. THE COMPOSITIONS OF THIS INVENTION ARE USEFUL IN BOTH LIQUID AND VAPOR DEGREASING OF METAL AND AS A PROPELLENT FOR AEROSOL COMPOSITIONS.
