Abstract
Abstract An extensible protector shroud having alternating inner and outer diameter portions defining adjacent convolutions, and formed of a plurality of one-piece sections molded in collapsed condition and each comprising a pair of generally radial walls of radially inwardly progressively decreasing thickness joined at their inner peripheral edges. The protector is connected to a polished rod for extension therewith, and retainer rings inside the outer diameter portions of the composite protector prevent inward collapsing thereof upon extension while a floating connection makes the protector self-aligning with the polished rod extending axially therethrough.
