Abstract
Abstract THIS INVENTION PROVIDES A DIRECT METHOD FOR CARBONYLATION OF FLUOROCARBON COMPOUNDS WITHOUT LOSS OF FLUORINE SUBSTITUENTS. THE METHOD COMPRISES REACTING A FLUOROCARBON IODIDE WITH CARBON MONOXIDE AND AN ACTIVE-HYDROGEN CONTAINING COMPOUND, SUCH AS METHANOL, IN THE PRESENCE OF A METAL CARBONYL CATALYST.
