Abstract
Abstract The present invention relates to iron-base sintered alloys having excellent wear resistance at high temperatures, and more particularly to alloys adapted for fabricating valve seat rings of internal combustion engines. The alloys of the present invention are characterized by infiltrating selected metals having lubricating properties or the alloys thereof into the pores of iron-chromium-carbon base sintered alloys having significant mechanical strength and heat resistance.
