Claim 1
Independent Claim
117 words
In a rotary kiln of the type having a plurality of cooler tubes arranged in a planetary fashion around the outlet end of the kiln for rotation with the kiln, at least one junction piece having first and second open ended sections substantially perpendicular to each other, said first section being flanged and secured by bolt means to the corresponding cooler tube with the open end in communication therewith, and said second section communicates with an opening in the kiln and extends substantially radially from the kiln to the first section in a manner which permits radial expansion and contraction of said second section, said junction piece having at least a portion thereof lined with monolithic material.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
14 words
The junction piece according to claim 1 in which the entire lining is monolithic.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
25 words
The junction piece according to claim 1 wherein a portion of the lining includes sections of fire bricks spaced apart by sections of monolithic material.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
21 words
The junction piece according to claim 3 including at least one reinforcement member embedded in the monolithic sections of the lining.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
24 words
The junction piece according to claim 3 including retaining members for the fire brick sections of the lining embedded in the adjacent monolithic material.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
21 words
The junction piece according to claim 2 including at least one reinforcement memBer embedded in the monolithic sections of the lining.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
24 words
The junction piece according to claim 4 including retaining members for the fire brick sections of the lining embedded in the adjacent monolithic material.
