Abstract
Abstract A molding method comprising steps of bringing a shielding mold member into contact with the shaping surface of a shaping mold member to provide a mold assembly, filling a charge of a heat resisting particulate material in space disposed opposite the shaping mold member with respect to the shielding mold member, rendering negative the internal pressure of the space containing the charge so as to draw the shielding mold member toward the charge and cause the same to adhere thereto, removing the shaping mold member from the mold assembly so as to form a cavity defined by the shielding mold member, and pouring a molten metal into said cavity.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
127 words
A molding method, comprising: forming first and second mold cavities in first and second shielding mold members by steps comprising: bringing a shielding mold member into contact with the surface of a pattern to provide a mold assembly, placing a mold fLask adjacent the shielding mold member, filling the space between the flask and the shielding mold member with heat resisting particulate material, reducing the pressure in the space containing said heat resisting particulate material thereby drawing the shielding mold member toward and adhering it to said particulate material, and removing the pattern from the mold assembly leaving a cavity defined by the shielding mold member; connecting said first and second shielding members to form a resultant mold cavity; and pouring a molten metal into said cavity.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
14 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said shielding mold member comprises synthetic resin material.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
18 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said shielding mold member comprises a thin film of synthetic resin material.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
36 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the step of bringing the shielding mold member into contact with the pattern comprises coating a suitable material on the surface of said pattern to provide said shielding mold member.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
32 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the step of bringing the shielding mold member into contact with the pattern comprises vacuum forming a shielding mold member on the surface of said pattern.
