Abstract

Abstract A method of lubricating a hot steel workpiece in the process of hot rolling wherein an undiluted lubricating oil is atomized and sprayed onto the hot steel surface. In order to prevent the oil from flashing and burning upon contact with the hot steel surface, the atomized oil particles are maintained within the range of about 150 to 250 microns in size.
