Abstract A SERIAL SCHEME OF TRANSLATION BETWEEN BINARY NUMBERS AND CONSTANT-RATIO CODES UTILIZING TWO STORAGE DEVICES AND A TRAIN OF CLOCK PULSES. AS ONE STORAGE DEVICE CONTAINING THE NUMBER TO BE TRANSLATED IS COUNTED DOWN TO A REFERENCE VALUE, THE OTHER STORAGE DEVICE IS SIMULTANEOUSLY COUNTED UP FROM A REFERENCE VALUE TO THE EQUIVALENT NUMBER.
