Abstract WOOD IS TREATED BY BEING INITIALLY IMPREGNATED WITH HYDRAZINE. THEREUPON WOOD IS SHAPED IN THE USUAL MANNER AND THEN EXCESS HYDRAZINE IS REMOVED. HYDRAZINE IS PREFERABLY USED IN AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION. WOOL MAY BE HEATED AFTER THE IMPREGNATION. THE PROCESS IS SUITABLE FOR TREATING WOOD VENEERS AND VARIOUS WOOD BOARDS.
